It snowed like crazy here yesterday! I painted my heart out...finished these two ladies and another "Birds and Berries" painting...hope to paint at least that many paintings today! Working toward my goal of being able to live off my art!

Big Sales ...Thank You!!

Great sales last night at CollectArtwork. Three paintings sold, including this one, which was my biggest sale! Thanks to the great collectors who buy from our gallery!! I am focusing on growth this year and I am off to a great start! I've gotten some great advice and will be working on some new work this weekend. I expect big things!!

My Word for 2010....Finally!!

I believe that 2010 will be filled with Growth for me. My art sales are increasing every month and my association with the CollectArtwork group is extremely exciting both creatively and financially. I continue to challenge myself daily in my artistic endeavours and I can't wait to see what the new year brings.

I think I've finally chosen the word Growth as my word for 2010....I will expect growth in many areas of my life!

By the way.update on my weight loss progress. Following Weight Watchers is proving to be very easy. I have lost 10 pounds since 12/28....YAY!! It really helps that everyone at work is on some diet of their own but even so, I'm determined to become healthy this year! Still having trouble finding the time to walk on my treadmill - moved it downstairs (that's one step) but haven't used it yet! Oh well, baby steps!!

oldest daughter, Shanna, died

suddenly

of an

accidental drug overdose.

Grief doesn't get better with time.

I just realize as time goes by....

that I miss my daughter more.

Today, I feel my daughter's spirit with me

and my heart has wings.

Was way too tired today to finish two paintings, working toward my goal of 4 paintings this weekend. Got a lot to do tomorrow!

I read quite a few blogs today that chose a word for 2010...words that artists and crafters wanted to use for projects, inspiration, etc. I've thought alot of about this and am considering using the word "Possibility" There are so many possibilities for me in the coming year....This is a big decision...I'll think about it some more.

Hello Saturday!!

It's Saturday morning....5:30am! The dogs forgot it was my day off!! Just an update to say that I've completed TWO WEEKS on my diet !! YAY!! I lost 8 lbs the first week....unbelievable but who's to say how much I really lost because I was using different scales. Anyway, I'm finding it really easy to stick to Weight Watchers point system! Everyone at work is dieting or making lifestyle changes and I am curious to see how long this will last. I am determined to lose 40 pounds.

My goal is to complete 4 paintings this weekend.....I will post the finished product tomorrow evening....I only completed 3 last weekend but "Claire was 18x24 and her face was quite detailed..see my previous post. She's listed now at FindFolkArt on Ebay.

I am determined to celebrate this new year. I am looking at 2010 as a tremendous opportunity for me...Here's my goals for the year.

1. I am determined to get healthy this year. After going to the doctor last week, I realized that now is the time to lose weight. My blood pressure is elevated and my cholesterol is high. I am now on medication to decrease my cholesterol and the next step is medication for my blood pressure. I have a family history of heart disease and I am developing all of the risk factors. I came home and went online and signed up for Weight Watchers online. I have been on the "diet" for a week now (it really doesn't feel like a diet) and plan to change my lifestyle. We have moved my treadmill to a more accessible location and will start walking daily.

2. I want to finish more artwork every week. Not only do we need the extra income (I have been the only working adult in the home for 2 years now) but creatively, I need to stay busy.

3. I want to spend more time with family. I spent too much time working last year and too little time with my children (adult children). I'd like to plan family nights more often.

That's all I've got! Self,family and art...I think those are the important things. If I can make small changes every day, I'll be happy.
