Art Journaling using Layer Love Pages....

Yesterday, I felt that I was under the influence of a massive dose of caffeine! I finished two paintings....drew a couple more girls and still felt that I needed to do something. Of course there was plenty I could have done around my house or my studio (cleaning, straightening art supplies, etc.) but I wasn't in the mood for that!

So I used my page from my Layer Love class...one of my favorites...and did my first attempt at Art Journaling. Loved it!! It's addicting....which is not good. I already have way too many things that I am trying to do. I guess I can save this for right before bed and when waiting at the doctors office, etc. What about you? When do you art journal? How do you find time to create lovely art journals when you are also creating art in other forms?? I'd love to hear from you.

Have a great Sunday,
Karen

Hi Karen...this is really cool!

I don't consider art journaling another art form so to speak.. If I make art, I just make it in a book. I love having a place to collect and store everything...and then to flip though and look at it all together.. plus..a completed book? Heaven! xo

How lovely! Good morning, I'm stopping by to say hello, and Happy Monday (and for some, happy blue Monday or happy belated Pink Saturday - WHEW!) I have to get inspired and hope I have half your energy when I do.

My blog topic today is about a man, a dog, a love story, and a bit about embroidery. Please stop by if you have a moment.

Wow, Karen, that Julie has got you making some lovely painted pages - love, love the blues.
Like Julie, working in my art journal is my art making time. Most of the time it is in the book and sometimes it isn't but it is definitely where I play and do my experimenting, etc... I do take a break from it now and then, but expressing myself there is where my "best" work is. It is also one of the ways I got through a really tough winter - making art just for me...
Keep up the beautiful work, whatever form it takes !

Karen that is so beautiful. I just love art journaling. I wish I had more time to spend on it though. Maybe this summer I can start one. Have a great weekend! I need to stop by here more often. You always have such wonderful pictures.
